Education, arts, innovation- everything- takes money to run. We can’t even see and make sense of our world without money for research. Billionaires are plucking the filaments out of all the bulbs in our society leaving us in the dark, and then profiting off of selling us empty glass and blaming us for not being able to make them light up.

This quote from February 2017 is attributed to US Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (KY), regarding his censuring of Senator Elizabeth Warren (MA). Warren received censure for attempting to read one of Coretta Scott King’s letters on the senate floor during confirmation hearings for Senator Jeff Sessions (AL) to become Attorney General.
